QlikView is renowned for its best-of-breed user experience and the latest version, QlikView 10 is no exception.

QlikView is recognised for easy to use and intuitive user experience and QlikView 10 is no exception. For end users, the associative search, additional chart types and an improved current selection box, simply add to the excellent functionality already on offer. For the designers and developers, the new Containers, List Box expressions and Web View mode in the developer client, helping to ensure that the end user experience is even better.

• ASSOCIATIVE SEARCH. The Associative Search brings new ways and capabilities in exploring data to QlikView users. As a simplified, everyday search tool that users of Google^TM or iTunes^TM will find intuitive, associative search is a new method of filtering and is available is every list box, and every chart or grid. Users can search in seconds for values in list boxes or on charts and then are presented with the associated data elements.
• MEKKO CHARTS. Mekko Charts offer a means to show a relationship (or ratio) among dimensional values within a bar chart. A regular bar chart has fixed-width columns whereas Mekko Charts have variable-width columns. These show another dimension of data beyond what is possible with ordinary bar charts.
• IMRPOVED CURRENT SELECTION BOX. Users can now refine or change selections via a drop-down list for each selection. This makes is even easier to change selections at any level, negating the need for too many list boxes cluttering the screen at any one time.
• CONTAINERS. In QlikView versions, designers who wanted to show multiple aspects of growth or trends utilised the quick change feature within a single chart design. One limitation of this is that the resulting charts all had to share the same measures and dimensionality. QlikView 10 has Container objects that give QlikView designers a means to present multiple perspectives on a set of facts in a single, space-saving and easy-to-use object. This object is not tied to any one viewpoint (dimensionality) or set of measures or even type of object.
• LIST BOX EXPRESSIONS. List boxes are common place within every QlikView application. Within QlikView 10, they have been enhanced so that designers can now incorporate expressions in the list boxes to convey additional business context for each list box value. Designers can use list box expressions to add values, mini-charts and gauges to list boxes.
• WEB VIEW MODE IN THE DEVELOPER CLIENT. For designers, QlikView 10 now includes the potion to switch to a new ‘web view mode'. This new mode renders QlikView sheets as they would be seen when deployed through a browser. The web view mode shows all content including QlikView Extensions.
• QLIKVIEW EXTENSIONS. With QlikView Extensions, designers can create custom visualisations and user interface components for use within QlikView. Extensions can also be used to bring mapping tools, Gantt Charts, tag clouds, infographic charts, or any other visualisation in to QlikView. Once integration in your QlikView applications, custom and third party visualisations can take advantage of QlikView's own core capabilities.
